Biography
Heather was admitted to the NSW Bar in 2009. She holds qualifications in economics, law and international arbitration. Her practice covers a range of family law, family provision and care & protection matters, with a particular focus on complex parenting and financial cases. She is nationally accredited as a mediator and arbitrator for financial disputes under the Family Law Act.
Heather is well-known for combining calmness and empathy with an intelligent, wise and authoritative approach.
Heather graduated from the University of Sydney in 1996 with an honours degree in Economics and Laws. She practised law in the United Kingdom for 10 years while gaining a Masters of Law with a focus on international arbitration from University College London.
A well-respected barrister, Heather’s background includes an international practice in professional negligence and medical defence litigation in the United Kingdom, corporations law practice and construction litigation. Her primary areas of focus include equitable remedies in family law, de facto financial cases, complex property matters, relocation matters, alienation cases, and intergenerational transfer, particularly in rural affairs.
